WESTFIELD, Los Angeles County — Westfield and neighboring Academy Hills are part of LA County’s South Bay Capital Improvement Plan process, which began public engagement for the 2026 planning cycle.

The county says the study considers transportation and mobility, sewer systems and stormwater infrastructure in unincorporated communities. The South Bay project includes Westfield/Academy Hills alongside seven other communities. A multi-area public kickoff meeting was held on February 11, 2026, and county materials remain available for review.

What the plan will—and will not—do

Planners are identifying gaps, possible priorities and potential funding strategies. Westfield’s inclusion in the study does not establish that a particular trail, road or drain has been funded for construction. Residents should distinguish long-term planning proposals from approved and scheduled public works contracts.

Homeowners can consult the county’s maps and presentations to understand which projects could affect local roads. The county’s project page says an earlier community survey is closed; residents should watch for newly announced participation opportunities instead of assuming that form still accepts responses.
